    • Example- one or two pieces of evidence from your research to support the topic (can be flipped with eXplain)
    • eXplain- Explain how each piece of evidence supports the topic (can be flipped with Example)
    • Conclude- one sentence that closes the paragraph (can be merged with the Transition)
    • Transition- one sentence that leads the reader into the next topic (synonyms help)

    • Introduce the Opposing Argument
    • Acknowledge the parts that are valid
    • Counter the argument (this is generally where evidence is used)
    • Introduce the conclusion

  3. Then: Evaluate this Sample Conclusion Paragraph for:
    • Revisits the Value of the Essay
    • Restates the Thesis
    • Reviews Main Points/Counterclaim
