Classwork
  1. Do Now: Attach Quarter 4, Week 2 of 9. Read and annotate the document using the circle, underline, star, note method.
  2. After: Review Quarter 4 Plan and attach to the first page of the Quarter 4 section in your notebook
  3. Then: Finalize EA 2 book choice and create note-taking guide
  4. Next: 30 minute reading block for EA 2 book
Target Practice: I understand what I need to do while reading my EA 2 book choice. Fist-5?

  • Continue reading EA 2 book with note-taking guide created in class
  • Revise research paper for final grading by April 10

  2. After: Review EA 2 Directions and Scoring Rubric (attach to the next page of your notebook)
  3. Then: Create Lesson Plan using the template provided
  4. Next: Independent Reading Log, pp. 1-2
Target Practice: I can analyze my EA 2 book and evaluate my own understanding. Fist-5?
Homework
  • Continue reading EA 2 book with note-taking guide and complete pp. 1 & 2 by Friday
  • Revise research paper for final grading by April 10

Friday, April 8
Learning Target: RL.11-12.4 Determine the meanings of words and phrases as they are used in the text. RL.11-12.2 Determine two or more themes or central ideas of a text and analyze their development.
Classwork
  1. Do Now: Title the next page in your notebook EA 2 Reading Plan. Place today's date in the top-right corner. Work with your partners to create a plan that addresses these questions:
    • How many pages do I need to read today? Each day? Each week?
    • How many times will my group need to meet? Is class enough, or do we need to meet outside of class?
    • What kind of lesson would I like to teach? Math? English? History? Science? Something else?
    • Add other items to the plan as you see fit.
  2. After: 30 minute independent reading block (use note-taking guide)
  3. Then: Practice SBA and chart responses in your notebook. Check your answers here when you finish.
  4. Next: Review SBA schedule for next week.
Target Practice: I can create a schedule to read my EA 2 book and meet with my group to plan a lesson based on my reading. Fist-5?
