- Do Now: Flip to the LAST SECTION of your INB. Attach the Vocabulary instructions to the first page of it. Label the divider VOCABULARY. Read for understanding, annotate, and ask questions if necessary.
- After: Attach your hall pass to the INSIDE BACK COVER of your INB using tap- NO glue or staples. Write your name on it. Read for understanding and ask questions if necessary.
- Then: Introduction to personal narrative writing with A View from Mount Ritter by Joseph T. O'Connor. Add first word(s) to vocabulary list.
- Next: Go back to the first section of your INB and title the next page Understanding the Personal Narrative. Be sure to write today's date. In the time allowed, free write about why you think O'Connor wrote this story.

- Find at least four more new vocabulary words or phrases and complete the entries in the vocabulary section of your INB for class on Thursday.
