If you fail to return your copy of the book, it will also appear as an obligation on your KKHS account, which means no Prom, commencement, MIL card, and whole bunch of other bad!

Learning Target: W.11-12.8 Gather relevant information from multiple authoritative print and digital sources, using advanced searches effectively. Classwork
  1. Do Now: Preview the entire blog post for this week. Title the NEXT LEFT page of your INB Quarter 2, Week 2 of 10. In a format that works best for you, take notes on:
    • today's focus, short-term activities, long-term activities, due dates
    • AT THE BOTTOM of the next RIGHT PAGE copy the target practice for today
  2. After: Use the KKHS Library link at the top of this blog to find Opposing Viewpoints. With your group, search Opposing Viewpoints to find AT LEAST ONE SOURCE that will help you teach the class about your topic. Create an entry for each source on your group annotated bibliography.
  3. Then: Create the slideshow for your EA 1 topic. There is a sample on Google Classroom. Here are the minimum requirements (also on Google Classroom):
    • Slide 1: Title slide
    • Slide 2: overview of lesson
    • Slides 3-5: specific information about your topic
    • Slide 6: connection to Arthur Miller's The Crucible
    • Slide 7-?: Works Cited with MLA citations
  4. Next: Who were the Puritans? Read/Listen to Sinners in the Hands of an Angry God on WB p. 110. Answer questions 1-3 on WB pp. 110-111 by marking the text a different way for each question. Answer question 4 by writing in the space provided.

  • Work with your group to continue adding/updating the annotated bibliography and slideshow for EA 1. Your group needs at least 4 sources on the annotated bibliography by midnight on Friday, October 26.

  1. Do Now: 15 minutes to use The Crucible: Everbind Anthologies as a source on your group annotated bibliography for EA 1. You may copy the following format for the MLA citation:

  2. After: Selected reading from WB pp. 112-119 in EA 1 topic groups. Annotate to be able to complete the boxes from the Working from the Text activity on WB p. 121.
  3. Then: Share answers with another group to complete THE FIRST 3 ROWS of boxes from the Working from the Text activity on WB p. 121.
  4. Next: Detach the pages from your Springboard WB that were completed today and attach them to the next LEFT PAGE(s) of your INB. DON'T FORGET TO WRITE a summary or reflection of what you learned on the RIGHT PAGE.

      • the names of each group member must be in the document title and in the header of each page?
      • at least four entries are needed for proficiency (B)?
      • each entry must by 100% complete for proficiency (B)?
      • earning an A means that you have done MORE than the expectations given here?
  3. Then: The power of images and their impact on an audience
  4. Next: Search for images that might be useful on your slideshow. Make sure that the images are listed on your Works Cited slide(s) with links to the original source. You can list them simply as Image #1, Image #2, Image #3 etc... Try using the crop, outline, and other image functions in Google Slides to make the images fit thematically onto each slide.
Target Practice: I can work with my group to include at least four sources on our EA 1 annotated bibliography by the due date. I can work with my group to update our EA 1 visual aid to include effective images that help communicate information to the audience. Fist-5?
