- Do Now (same each day): Title today's journal Goal for the Day. In 3-4 sentences, explain what your draft-writing goal is for the day, how you will achieve it, and what you plan to do next. The ultimate goal is to complete a draft of your research paper; so, this should be a step that needs to be taken in order for you to reach that larger goal.
- eValuate Test (Tuesday/Wednesday only)
- After: Sentence Starter Activity
- Then: Self-directed drafting time
- Next: citing sources within the text AND the Works Cited page
- Text Check-out/Sign-up: Return Into the Wild and sign-out new books
Homework
- Complete, share, and submit Draft 1 of your research paper by midnight on Wednesday

- Do Now: Retrieve a computer and share your Draft 1 with one or two other students in the room.
- After: Edit using p. 17 of the research paper packet
- Then: Edit using p. 18 of the research paper packet (a partner can complete the checklist)
- Next: Review independent reading activity for Quarter 4
Homework
- Create a copy of your first draft and title the file Draft 2. Begin revising using the marks made by your editing partners in class and the checklist in the research paper packet.
