Production Companies: Check your script for comments from your teacher!  Final productions are due Friday, November 13 by midnight. 
HOWEVER, you may submit by November 17 without penalty!

Learning Target: RL.11-12.2 Determine two or more themes of a text and analyze their development. SL.11-12.1 Initiate and participate effectively in a range of collaborative activities.
Classwork
  1. Do Now: Finish Socratic Seminar from Friday's class. (rounds 2/3 and reflect) 
  2. After: Attach Quarter 2, Week 5 of 10 to the next LEFT PAGE of your notebook. Read and annotate the document. 
  3. Then: Conflicts in Salem During Reading Activity on WB p. 113 while watching The Crucible 
  4. Next: Work with production company to revise script/film scene
Target Practice: I can use my analysis of conflict in The Crucible to improve my own script about a current social issue. Fist-5?
Homework
  • Rehearse and/or film your scene (submit at the link above)
  • Bring IR to class on Thursday

Learning Target: RL.11-12.3 Analyze the impact of the author's choices. L.11-12.3 Apply knowledge of content specific words and phrases to comprehend more fully when reading or listening. SL.11-12.1 Initiate and participate effectively in a range of collaborative discussions.
Classwork
  1. Do Now: 20 minute IR session with Packet p. 4 (page 3 grading) 
  2. After: Title the next RIGHT PAGE of your notebook Literary Analysis: Characterization. Fold the page in half, then in half again. Title the columns: direct characterization, indirect characterization, dramatic irony, and verbal irony. Use Textbook p. 1186 to write a definition for each word. 
  3. Then: While watching Act III of The Crucible write at least one example for each word. 
  4. Next: Work with your production company on script or filming the scene.
Target Practice: I can analyze a range of literary elements and use that knowledge to improve my group's production of a scene about a current social issue. Fist-5?
Homework
