  1. Do Now: Preview the entire blog post for this week. Title the next page of your INB Quarter 3, Week 5 of 10. In a format that works best for you, use the entire page to organize:
    • today's focus, short-term activities, long-term activities, due dates
    • at the bottom, copy the target practice for today
  2. After: Turn to LC: Confused Words on WB pp. 224-226. Follow ALL of the instructions. You may work with a partner if that helps your understanding and completion of the activity.
    • Then: Finish the Developing a Thesis Statement activity in your INB (pages 12 and 13 of this document)
    • Next: Title the next page of your INB Prewriting the Junior Paper. create the following planning structure on the page. Then, write a paragraph of at least five sentences that synthesizes the information. We will use this next class to begin writing your EA 2: Research Paper Draft.

    • Continue researching for sources to use in writing the research paper, and record them on the annotated bibliography. If you did not complete at least 8 entries by the due date, you have until this Friday to complete it (one grade-level down for lateness).

      • What social issue is being addressed?
      • What is the irony?
      • What information do you need to know in order for this to be funny?
      • Why might someone think this is real?
      • Have you ever been fooled into thinking something like this was real?
    2. After: Read and annotate Introduction to Satire on WB p. 268
      • Why is it important to know when something is Satire?
