This is the mid-point of the quarter.  You should have a topic for your research paper already.  If not you NEED TO CHOOSE ONE FROM THE LIST so that you can use the research methods learned this week!

Classwork
Learning Objective: L.11-12.6, acquire and use accurately new academic and domain specific words and phrases.
  1. Do Now: Junior Vocabulary Unit 10, Quiz A
  2. After: Grammar Review for Verbs and Verb Usage (p. 59 in the orange textbook)
  3. Then: Correct Quiz
  4. Next: Complete Verbs and Verb Usage activity

 Homework
  • Reminder: Report directly to the Library for the rest of the week!
  • Complete pp. 8 and 11 in the research paper packet for check during class on Tuesday/Wednesday
  • Add another source to your Annotated Bibliography, or AB, by Tuesday/Wednesday class (should be a total of AT LEAST three sources + sample source from class)
  • Reminder: Independent Reading early turn-ins are due by 2:15 on Friday, Feb. 7

  1. Do Now: Setup Cornell-style notes in journals with the title: Online Encyclopedias, Online Newspapers, and finding MLA citations
  2. After: Online Encyclopedias (Mrs. Arcas)
  3. Then: Online Newspapers (Mrs. Arcas)
  4. Next: finding MLA citations for these online sources (Mrs. Arcas)
Target Practice: I can use the KKHS Library's search tools to find and accurately cite relevant sources to support my claim and/or my counterclaim. +/0/-
