Classwork
  1. Do Now: Attach Quarter 3, Week 4 of 11 to the next LEFT PAGE of your notebook. Read and annotate the document using the underline/circle/star method.
  2. After: 20 minutes work-time to revise final draft of the Definition Essay
  3. Then: Self-score or peer-score using 'comments' in Google Docs
  4. Next: Complete Temperature Check at the top of this page

Learning Target: RI.11-12.2 Determine two or more central ideas of a text and analyze their development over the course of the text, including how they interact and build on one another to provide a complex analysis; provide an objective summary of the text. W.11-12.5 Develop and strengthen writing as needed by planning, revising, editing, rewriting, or trying a new approach, focusing on addressing what is most significant for a specific purpose and audience.
Classwork
  1. Do Now: Title the RIGHT PAGE Planning for the Research Paper. Write today's date at the top-right. Copy the target practice below the title. Fold the page in half, then in half again.
  2. After: While watching this video, use the columns to write the four questions that need to be considered when choosing a topic to write about.
  3. Then: Draw a line across the middle of the page. Directly under it, use the columns to write four ideas that you MIGHT want to research. Try to answer the four questions for each topic.
  4. Next: Staple the Question Planning Template to the next RIGHT PAGE and begin developing questions for opening, core, and closing columns
