Due Today: Continue outlining/researching for EA 2: Persuasive Speech
Learning Target: SL.11-12.3 Evaluate a speaker's point of view, reasoning, and use of evidence and rhetoric. RL.11-12.5 Analyze how an author's choices concerning how to structure specific parts of a text.
Classwork
  1. Do Now: Preview the entire blog post for this week. If you have questions about homework or classwork, ask. Notes are recommended, but not required.
  2. After: Analyze Integrity speech from Scent of a Woman (explicit) for: 
    • volume: the speakers voice gets louder or softer
    • pitch: the speaker's voice changes depth or frequency
    • speed: word's are spoken faster or slower
  3. Then: Attach your monologue in the INB and analyze it for volume, pitch, and speed
  4. Next: Outline/Research for EA 2: Persuasive Speech (see Google Classroom for help or to reprint the outline/annotated bibliography)

  2. After: 20 minute timed-write for drafting the speech in the INB (use your outline)
  3. Then: Read draft of the speech to a peer
  4. During: use this speech response sheet to give feedback to your partner
