Classwork
  1. Do Now: Setup Quarter 3 Section Divider and Important Dates Reminder on first page
  2. After: Attach Topic Selection Worksheet on next left page of INB. 
    • Complete the activity by writing one paragraph describing what you know already and one paragraph describing what you want or need to know in order to argue the topic.
  3. Then: Navigate to the Junior Page of the Senior Project Site
    • Once you've found it, Read from the top down to Legends of the Knight. Stop to click on any links you find interesting. Note-taking should occur in your INB.
  4. After: Create Annotated Bibliography document on Google Classroom
Target Practice: I have a probable argumentative topic for the research paper and am ready to start tracking my research on the Annotated Bibliography. Fist-5?
Homework
  • Create or ADD+ the Annotated Bibliography on Google Classroom. Begin tracking sources if you already have a topic.
  • Commit to your topic on Google Classroom. This must be done by Jan. 14
  • Consider the Independent Learning choices on Google Classroom. You must choose an option by next Friday, January 18. Failure to choose means you are expected to do Option 3: Khan Academy.

Due Today: Annotated Bibliography is created on Google Classroom

Classwork
  1. Do Now: Visit Google Classroom and enter your topic for approval.
    • If you are not ready for approval, use this time to continue researching.
  2. After: Attach the two page MLA Guide for Documenting Sources (pages 9-10)
    • Annotate using the direction provided in class
  3. Then: Using the CRAAP process to see if a source is valuable
    • Practice using the direction provided in class
    • CRAAP any sources already on your Annotated Bibliography. Any missing CRAAPcriteria should be addressed in your summary for each source.
  4. Next: Independent Learning (see Google Classroom):
    • Option 1: Read a book and complete the Creative Option Criteria
    • Option 2: Read a book and complete the Reading Log Criteria
    • Option 3: Complete the assigned work on Khan Academy (requires sign-in)
