  • Then: Individual scoring of the sample speech using the rubric.  The speech is Proficient in each category.  Your job is not to score, but to write in each column why it is proficient in that category using the language from the rubric. Annotate the rubric as you see fit (especially for unfamiliar words).

  3. Then: Click on this link to view 301 Arguable topics from the New York Times.  After researching as many topics as you can, write four that interest you and why. Create a copy of this Annotated Bibliography template and place links to any relevant sources you might use later.
