Classwork
  1. Do Now: While watching this video, reflect on your own decisions during the Research Paper Process. Write your response on the first page of the next section in your notebook.
  2. After: Skip to the 2nd LEFT PAGE of your notebook and attach Quarter 4, Week 1 of 10. Read and annotate the document using the circle, underline, star, note method.
  3. Then: Smarter Balanced Assessment discussion and schedule overview
  4. Next: SBA Practice- chart responses in your notebook. Check your answers here when you finish.
  5. During: Individual conferences to discuss Research Paper
Target Practice: I understand what I need to do for successful revision on the final draft of the research paper. Fist-5?

  • Preview Reading Project for Q4- You ARE NOT required to make a selection, only research: The Kite Runner, Into Thin Air, Their Eyes Were Watching God, Different Seasons, Maus/Maus II, The Illustrated Man, The Great Gatsby, or The Things They Carried.

  3. Then: Click here to install SAS Writing Reviser. Open your research paper and use the reviser to help you make changes to improve your writing.
  4. During: Individual conferences to discuss Research Paper

Reminder: Annotated Bibliography, Outline Slideshow, and a Draft of your Research Paper must be shared and submitted through the Junior Page of the Senior Project Site by March 15. FAILURE TO DO SO WILL RESULT IN FAILURE OF THE COURSE!

Classwork
  • Do Now: Read and annotate Quarter 3, Week 11 of 11. Attach the document to the NEXT PAGE of your notebook.
  • After: Reviewing due-dates and beginning of Quarter 4 (research packet p. 3)
  • Then: Independent Reading Preview for Quarter 4 (independent reading log)
  • Next: Individual student-teacher meetings and research paper revision time

  • Finish revising the second draft of the essay (If you've already submitted a draft, there is no need to submit again. Just make the changes you feel are necessary based on editing)

  2. After: Attach  Things to Avoid When Writing the Research Paper (packet p. 17) to the NEXT PAGE of your notebook. Read and annotate the document. While looking at YOUR research paper, use the lined part of the page to write down at least 10 Suggestions from the list that you will use to enhance your essay.
  3. Then: individual work-time for revision and student meetings.
