                                              • Write the following title at the top of the RIGHT page: Could I use this lesson idea to teach my topic? Write Expert Groups underneath the title. Write a three sentence response to the question at the top if the page. Whether you answer yes or no, explain why you answered that way and how it relates to your book.
                                            3. Then: Example Lesson Idea:Using Comic Strips to Tell a Story!
                                              • Draw a line under your last response.
                                              • Write the following title under the line: Could I use this lesson idea to teach my topic? Write Using Comic Strips to Tell a Story! underneath the title. Write a three sentence response to the question at the top if the page. Whether you answer yes or no, explain why you answered that way and how it relates to your book.
                                            4. Next: Begin working with a group to brainstorm ideas for your EA 2: Teaching a Lesson!
                                              • Write your ideas in space provided on your EA 2 instruction sheet
                                              • Determine which group member is going to MAKE A COPY of the lesson plan on Google Classroom. This person MUST share the document with the group AND is responsible for submitting for the group by the due date.

                                            1. Do Now: Continue listening to How to Tell a True War Story from The Things They Carried 
                                              • Add at least one more What the firetruck? line to your foldable. Be sure to write at least the first five words of the line, along with the page #.
                                            2. After: Think about a story that is important to you. It may be your own, or one that has been told to you by a parent or grandparent. Write the story in your INB during the time provided. 
                                              • Story should be written on the next RIGHT page of the INB. Title the page My Story.
                                              • After writing the story, respond to the following questions on the previous LEFT page of your INB
                                                  • Does writing the story down change your perspective? 
                                                  • Did you notice details that you hadn't before? 
                                                  • Were there details you left out?
                                            3. Then: Group-read: Friends, Enemies, or The Dentist
                                              • Take notes on the next LEFT page of your INB as you read.
                                              • Discuss the chapter with your group after finishing.
                                              • Write a one-paragraph group summary of the chapter on the next RIGHT page of your INB.

                                              • Add to all of your foldable columns
                                            2. After: Title the next LEFT page of your INB Searching for Imagery. Create a graphic organizer that divides the page into three segments: Topography of Vietnam, Green Berets, Mary Anne's Transformation.
                                              • As you finish reading the section, write down at least four examples of imagery from the text that help you understand the topic you were asked to look for.
                                            3. Then: Share examples with others who were looking for something different, and write down examples for the two sections that you DID NOT read for.
                                            4. Next: INB Check #8 (End Date is Today)
                                              • You should have at least 8 left/right entries in your INB from the date the last check ended to today.
